What to bring?
As Thornwood is predominately self-catering, definitely pack some food.
Takkies/ closed hiking shoes.
Mosquito/ bug spray for your skin In the winter months it can get quite cold- pack a jersey or jacket and some trousers/jeans.

International plug adapter (if needed)
How many people can Thornwood accommodate?
Thornwood can host a maximum of 10 guests. There are two queen size beds, four single beds and two camping stretchers normally used for young children who would like to sleep in their parents room.
Do we share the lodge with other guests?
No, when you book to stay at Thornwood, you have the entire lodge exclusively to yourself.
Is Thornwood in a Malaria zone?
No, Thornwood is not in a malaria area however do pack some mosquito spray!
Do you offer breakfast?
Yes, on special request Thornwood can provide B&B or even dinner B&B services.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Not yet. Thornwood doesn’t offer wi-fi but as there is a growing demand we are researching as to how we can make it available to guests.
Where are the closest shops and restaurants?
The closest shops are 16km from Thornwood in Hluhluwe Town, which you drive through to get to the lodge. There are a number of local restaurants to visit. You can find these listed in your information booklet upon booking.

Why is Thornwood not on TripAdvisor?
TripAdvisor only “lists accommodations that offer multiple rooms/units at one specific address and can accommodate more than one party of guests at a time.” When you book Thornwood, you have the entire lodge exclusively to yourself.
