Situated in the heart of the Elephant Coast on the eastern seaboard of the Zulu Kingdom, KwaZulu-Natal, Thornwood is situated on the private nature reserve of Kuleni Game Park; neighbours to the Phinda Game Reserve and the Isimangaliso/Greater St Lucia Wetland Park (a registered world heritage site) with Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game reserve and Sodwana Bay both in easy reach.
Kuleni features four different ecosystems: sand forest, grasslands, wetland and thorn scrub.

Thornwood offers 20 different excursions and activities to partake in. From self-guided walking trails around the park to a variety of excursions offered around the area.
